Superprof Acquires Tutors.com, Becomes the Number One Tutoring Platform in the United States

After Latin America, the French education leader completes its 21st strategic acquisition on U.S. soil and cements its position as the global leader in tutoring

PARIS, FRANCE, September 8, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Having already strengthened its position across Europe and Latin America, Superprof, the world's leading platform connecting students and tutors, today announced the acquisition of Tutors.com, the second-largest tutoring company in the United States. The deal closed following a highly competitive bidding process against several American buyers. It marks Superprof's 21st strategic acquisition and puts the French company in the number one spot in the world's largest market for tutoring and learning support.

A Major Win in the World's Largest Market

A fixture in the U.S. education landscape for 12 years, Tutors.com has built a strong reputation, particularly in language and music instruction, along with a domain name that carries serious authority for both traditional search and AI-driven search (SEO/GEO). The acquisition brings Superprof an engaged community of 3 million students and 200,000 tutors across more than 500 subjects.

With this deal, Superprof's global network crosses the symbolic threshold of 40 million tutors. The new U.S. entity will be run and overseen entirely from Superprof's original headquarters, in the 11th arrondissement of Paris.

French Boldness Against American Competition

Facing fierce counterbids from American companies, Superprof won out through fast decision-making and a direct, trust-based relationship with the founders. That speed showed up in the deal terms too: the acquisition closed with full cash payment at signing. Superprof financed the entire deal with backing from two major banking partners, BNP Paribas and JPMorgan.
