Attack on Police Patrol in Southeastern Iran Leaves One Officer Dead

(MENAFN) A police officer was killed and three others were injured after armed assailants opened fire on a patrol in the city of Zahedan in southeastern Iran, according to reports from a semi-official news agency.

First Sergeant Mohammadreza Nezamdoost died in what authorities described as a “terrorist attack,” while three additional officers sustained injuries.

The report said the incident took place while the patrol was carrying out security duties in the area.

According to officials, efforts are currently underway to identify and locate those responsible for the attack, with further information expected to be released later.
