Ireland harshly denounces Israeli’s attacks in Gaza
"I strongly condemn the strikes in Gaza that have reportedly left more than 100 dead, including 46 children. I urge all parties to adhere to, and implement, the ceasefire agreement and call for a surge in humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza," Martin said late Wednesday on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.
Describing the deaths of civilians as “absolutely appalling,” Martin emphasized the importance of upholding international law and ensuring that all sides fulfill their commitments. "All parties need to honour the commitments they made and to work to ensure that the other elements of the plan can move forward. Too many people have suffered and died already," he added.
According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, Israeli forces have killed more than 100 Palestinians, including 46 children, in Gaza since Tuesday evening, violating the ceasefire that has been in place since October 10. The ministry also reported 253 injuries, among them 78 children and 84 women.
Data from the ministry indicates that since the ceasefire began, at least 211 people have been killed and 597 others wounded in continued Israeli attacks.
Since the start of Israel’s military operations in Gaza in October 2023, over 68,600 Palestinians—mostly women and children—have been killed, with more than 170,600 injured, according to official figures.
